With the creation of the Cologne Green Foundation, we honor the memory of Konrad Adenauer, who was instrumental in letting Cologne’s former cordon of fortifications be transformed into parks and green spaces. As a Cologne company with a rich tradition, we are proud to preserve this inheritance and to contribute to a greener cityscape and a higher quality of life.

Thanks to the joint initiative of Bauwens and Zwischennutzer GmbH, an area of around 17,000 square meters on the former Flint Group site in Cologne is currently being made available to artists and creative professionals at a reasonable price. The creative hotspot LORDation II has been hosting art exhibitions, markets and other open-air events on the site in the south of Cologne since mid-2023.

Everyone needs a home. Habitat for Humanity is committed to helping people in need around the world who do not have decent accommodation. Bauwens actively supports this. Our employees put their hearts and hands into local aid projects in order to build a home with and for the poorest of the poor and thus set an example for a better future.

Success has a long tradition at the Cologne Tennis and Hockey Club. The field hockey department can call numerous championship titles its own. This makes the KTHC Stadion Rot-Weiss one of the most successful German field hockey clubs. Bauwens has been a supporter of the club for many years and is delighted with both the great achievements of the athletes and the excellent youth work of the Cologne club.

Promoting modern and contemporary art and making it accessible to the public as part of the exhibitions at the Museum Ludwig is part of the aim of the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst, the association that supports the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Bauwens shares this concern. As a long-standing sponsor, we support the annual presentation of the Wolfgang Hahn Prize: the award honors exceptional contemporary artists who are important for the future of the museum's collection. Our support makes the presentation and publication of the respective prize possible.
